A project within Bury Council from 2011, in which Mike Dowd as Senior Landscape Architect at the time, oversaw his team in the design and construction of a memorial garden for the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers ( formally the XXth Regt - The Lancashire Fusiliers) on the site of thier old Barracks -(closed in 1961).
The design was worked up by an Assistant Landscape Architect, working under the control of Mike, who directed the brief and advised and steered the project as Senior Landscape Architect
The preparatory work also included the removal restoration and re- erection of an original listed Lutyens war memorial from 1919 to a new home in Gallipoli Gardens Bury, outside the new Fusiliers Musem building.
